HomosexReality

HomosexReality A very controversial topic, but someone has to do it. By the graces of Holy Homosexuality Batman!, I have come to realize a couple things. The world is not ready to experience the gay community at its peak. Yes, we have homosexual shows like Noah’s Ark. We have homosexual figures like Ellen Degeneres and so on and so forth. But, all of this respect and recognition goes out of the window when it comes to real world America. We claim that we are okay with people being different. You know, females liking females, males liking males. But really, it’s just to a certain extent. Can you imagine having a homosexual president? Or even a well respected politician? This is because this kind of lifestyle is fine as long as it is not in the public’s eye.Once it got too much publicity that is where things went wrong. For example, Batman. Batman is too popular of a character for him to show any kind of sign of femininity or homosexuality. It is not as horrendous as if it would have been Superman, but it is all the same. Disregard the fact that both of these characters are fictional. These characters means a lot to the world and something like this getting into the media.Let us say that Batman was gay. Let us say that he is a homosexual but, he is masculine. He is the picture perfect man, he just likes guys. Would this now be okay? If he just kept his private life private and still did the exact same thing that he does now? Would Batman as popular? Yes, he would be. Not because he goes around the world saving the citizens of Gotham city, not because it is a great movie series, but because there is so much controversy surrounding a superhero. It would be Batman, the superhero. It would be the gay bat flying around town in a tight suit that will not stay out of people’s business.            America is not yet ready for change or even something new. They just put it behind wraps until they find time to deal with it.By Dilaina Jones
